Manufacturer description
Never before produced in ready-to-run form in any scale, accurascale is excited to reveal the latest addition to its eagerly-anticipated range of 4mm/OO gauge Mk.2 coaching stock, the late-style Mk.2c variant with their characteristic small 'air con'-style toilet windows. Famously designed to be retrofitted with air-conditioning equipment, a modification that never took place, 150 vehicles were built at Litchurch Lane, Derby, in 1969-70 to five designs (out of 250 Mk.2c in total), primarily for the London Midland Region: Tourist Second Open (TSO), Corridor First (FK), Open First (FO), Brake Corridor First (BFK) and Brake Open Second (BSO). In the 1980s four further types were introduced, SK and SO (declassified from first class), Corridor Composite (converted from FK for Scottish Region services) and a mini buffet with trolley space, known as TSO(T). All nine of these versions will feature in our production.

Accurascale has released a new model of the BR Mark 2C MK2C BFK Intercity Executive coach, numbered M17130, as part of its OO gauge range. This model is a representation of a coach that was built at BREL's Litchurch Lane Works in Derby between 1969 and 1970.

The model features a highly detailed exterior with fine rivet detail on the roof and coach ends, as well as separately applied etched metal and high-fidelity plastic parts, including handrails, brake/steam heat pipes, and footsteps. The coach also features prism free glazing and pre-painted etched metal water filler covers.

The model has a fully detailed underframe with numerous separate parts, accurate differences between versions, and the most accurate B4 bogies ever produced, with provision for re-gauging to EM or P4 gauges. The coach is equipped with blackened RP25.110 profile wheel-sets and different buffers for retracted and non-retracted positions.

The interior of the coach is also highly detailed, with characteristic 'winged' headrests, separate metal interior handrails, and a fully detailed guard's compartment. The model features a correct height NEM standard coupling socket and a mini tension lock coupler, with easy conversion to Kadee-compatiable knuckle couplers.

The model is a representation of a coach used by Intercity services, and features a full lighting package, including magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting, 'stay-alive' capacitors, and directional lighting with DC or DCC control.
