Accurascale has released a new OO gauge model of a British Railways Mark 2B Brake Corridor First coach in blue and grey livery, numbered 14111. The model is part of Accurascale's Mk.2b series, which aims to fill a gap in the market for high-quality models of this type in 4mm scale.

Built by British Rail Engineering Limited at Litchurch Lane Works in Derby between 1963 and 1975, 111 vehicles of the Mk.2b class were produced to three designs, including the Brake Corridor First (BFK) type. This model features a range of detailed parts, including etched metal and high-fidelity plastic components, and a highly detailed underframe with separate parts and pipe runs.

The model has a length of 269mm and is suitable for use on a minimum radius curve of 438mm. It features a range of lighting options, including magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting and directional lighting with DC or DCC control. The model also includes a 'stay-alive' capacitor and a NEM standard coupling socket with a mini tension lock coupler.

The model is built to a high standard, with features such as prism free glazing, separately-applied etched metal and high-fidelity plastic parts, and accurate B4 and B5 bogies that can be re-gauged to EM or P4 gauges. The model also includes blackened RP25.110 profile wheel-sets and different buffers for retracted and non-retracted positions.
