Manufacturer description
Never before produced in ready-to-run form in any scale, accurascale is excited to reveal the latest addition to its eagerly-anticipated range of 4mm/OO gauge Mk.2 coaching stock, the late-style Mk.2c variant with their characteristic small 'air con'-style toilet windows. Famously designed to be retrofitted with air-conditioning equipment, a modification that never took place, 150 vehicles were built at Litchurch Lane, Derby, in 1969-70 to five designs (out of 250 Mk.2c in total), primarily for the London Midland Region: Tourist Second Open (TSO), Corridor First (FK), Open First (FO), Brake Corridor First (BFK) and Brake Open Second (BSO). In the 1980s four further types were introduced, SK and SO (declassified from first class), Corridor Composite (converted from FK for Scottish Region services) and a mini buffet with trolley space, known as TSO(T). All nine of these versions will feature in our production.

Accurascale has released a model of the Mark 2C FO coach in blue and grey Intercity livery, with the number M3162. This is a highly detailed OO gauge representation of the British Rail coach, built to a scale of 1:76.2 on 16.5mm track.

This model features a number of accurate details, including fine exterior rivet detail, separately-applied etched metal and plastic parts, and prism free glazing. The underframe is fully detailed, with numerous parts and pipe runs, and the bogies are accurate representations of the B4 type, with provision for re-gauging to EM or P4 gauges.

The model includes a range of features, such as blackened wheel-sets, different buffers for retracted and non-retracted positions, and accurate interiors with characteristic 'winged' headrests. The lighting package includes magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting and a 'Stay-Alive' capacitor in all coaches.

The model is suitable for use on curves with a minimum radius of 2nd radius set-track, and measures 269mm in length. It is designed for OO gauge layouts, but can be easily converted to other gauges using the correct wheel-sets.
