Manufacturer description
Never before produced in ready-to-run form in any scale, accurascale is excited to reveal the latest addition to its eagerly-anticipated range of 4mm/OO gauge Mk.2 coaching stock, the late-style Mk.2c variant with their characteristic small 'air con'-style toilet windows. Famously designed to be retrofitted with air-conditioning equipment, a modification that never took place, 150 vehicles were built at Litchurch Lane, Derby, in 1969-70 to five designs (out of 250 Mk.2c in total), primarily for the London Midland Region: Tourist Second Open (TSO), Corridor First (FK), Open First (FO), Brake Corridor First (BFK) and Brake Open Second (BSO). In the 1980s four further types were introduced, SK and SO (declassified from first class), Corridor Composite (converted from FK for Scottish Region services) and a mini buffet with trolley space, known as TSO(T). All nine of these versions will feature in our production.

Accurascale's OO gauge model of a Mark 2C TSO coach in BR Blue/Grey livery is now available. This model represents a coach built by British Rail Engineering Limited at the Litchurch Lane Works in Derby between 1963 and 1975. The model is part of a range of coaches that includes 10 different models, each with a unique number.

This model features a highly-detailed exterior with fine rivet detail on the roof and coach ends, as well as separately-applied etched metal and plastic parts. The underframe is fully-detailed with numerous separate parts and accurate differences between versions. The bogies are accurate and can be re-gauged for use on EM or P4 gauge track.

The interior of the coach is also accurately detailed, with characteristic 'winged' headrests and separate metal interior handrails on brake and corridor vehicles. The coach has a working interior lighting system, including a magnet 'wand' controlled lighting and a 'stay-alive' capacitor. The model is suitable for use on a minimum radius curve of 438mm, which is equivalent to a second radius set-track. The coach is 269mm in length and has a NEM standard coupling socket with a mini tension lock coupler.
