Manufacturer description

accurascale is very proud to reveal the latest addition to its well received range of rolling stock, the Mk.2b series of coaches, one of several 'missing link' sub classes that has never been produced in high quality form in 4mm scale. Built at Litchurch Lane, Derby, during 1969, 111 vehicles were built for British Rail to three designs; Tourist Second Open (TSO), Corridor First (FK) and Brake Corridor First (BFK).

Accurascale has released a new OO gauge model of a British Rail Mark 2B Corridor First coach in blue and grey livery, number 13476. This model is part of the company's range of rolling stock, which aims to fill gaps in the market by producing high-quality models of lesser-known classes.

The model is based on the FK subclass of Mark 2B coaches, which were built at BREL's Litchurch Lane Works in Derby between 1963 and 1975. A total of 111 vehicles were produced for British Rail during this period, including TSO, FK, and BFK designs.

Key features of the model include highly detailed exterior rivet work, separately-applied etched metal and plastic parts, and prism free glazing. The underframe is fully detailed, with numerous separate parts and accurate differences between versions. The model also features accurate B4 and B5 bogies, which can be re-gauged to EM or P4 gauges.

The interior of the model is also highly detailed, with characteristic 'winged' headrests, metal interior handrails, and a fully detailed guard's compartment. The model also features a full lighting package, including magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting, 'stay-alive' capacitors, and directional lighting with DC or DCC control.

The model is suitable for use on minimum radius curves of 438mm (2nd radius set-track) and has a length of 269mm. It is designed for use with OO gauge track and features a NEM standard coupling socket with a mini tension lock coupler.
