Accurascale has released a new OO gauge model of a British Railways Mark 2B Tourist Second Open coach, numbered 5439 in blue and grey livery.

The model is a representation of a coach built by BREL Derby Litchurch Lane Works in 1963 to 1975. It is part of a range of coaches that were built to three different designs, including the Tourist Second Open, Corridor First, and Brake Corridor First.

The model features highly detailed exterior rivet work, separately applied etched metal and plastic parts, and a fully detailed underframe. It also includes prism free glazing, pre-painted destination boards and holders, and blackened wheel-sets.

The interior of the model is also highly detailed, with characteristic 'winged' headrests, separate metal handrails, and a fully detailed guard's compartment. The model is equipped with a full lighting package, including magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting and directional lighting with DC or DCC control.

The model is available in OO gauge and is designed to run on a minimum radius of 438mm. It meets the NEM standard for coupling and has a length of 269mm.
