Accurascale has launched its latest OO gauge model, a Mark 2b Brake Corridor First Coach in blue and grey livery. This new release is a highly detailed representation of the BFK type, one of the 'missing link' sub-classes of British Rail coaches that has previously been under-represented in 4mm scale.

Built by BREL at Derby's Litchurch Lane Works between 1963 and 1975, the Mark 2b series comprised three designs, including the TSO, FK, and BFK. The Accurascale model features a number of accurate details, including exterior rivet work, etched metal and plastic parts, and a fully-detailed underframe.

Key features of the model include prism-free glazing, pre-painted destination boards, and a choice of buffers for retracted and non-retracted positions. The model also has a highly detailed interior, with characteristic 'winged' headrests, metal interior handrails, and a fully-detailed guard's compartment. The NEM standard coupling sockets are designed to work with either mini tension lock couplers or Kadee-compatiable knuckle couplers.

The Accurascale Mark 2b BFK model is designed to work on a minimum radius curve of 438mm, and has a length of 269mm. It features a fully-working lighting package, including magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting and directional lighting with DC or DCC control.
