accurascale is very proud to reveal the latest addition to its well received range of rolling stock, the Mk.2b series of coaches, one of several 'missing link' sub classes that has never been produced in high quality form in 4mm scale. Built at Litchurch Lane, Derby, during 1969, 111 vehicles were built for British Rail to three designs; Tourist Second Open (TSO), Corridor First (FK) and Brake Corridor First (BFK).

• Blackened RP25.110 profile wheel-sets with 14.4mm back-to-back measurements, and 26mm over pinpoints
• Different buffers for retracted and non-retracted positions
• Accurate interiors with characteristic 'winged' headrests, separate metal interior handrails on the brake and corridor vehicles and fully-detailed guard's compartment
• Correct height NEM standard coupling sockets with mini tension lock couplers and kinematic close-coupling

Accurascale has released a new model of the British Railways Mark 2B Tourist Second Open coach, designated as TSO, in OO gauge. The model represents a coach in the blue and grey livery of the British Rail era, specifically the period from the introduction of TOPS.

The model is built to a high standard, with finely detailed exterior rivets on the roof and coach ends, and separately applied etched metal and plastic parts, including handrails, brake pipes, and roof vents. The coach features a highly detailed underframe, with numerous separate parts and accurate differences between versions. The bogies are accurate representations of the B4 and B5 types, with the option to re-gauge to EM or P4 gauges.

The model is supplied with a pre-painted destination board, water filler cover, and Western Region markings. The interior is also detailed, with characteristic 'winged' headrests, separate metal handrails, and a fully detailed guard's compartment. The model's lighting package includes magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting, a 'stay-alive' capacitor, and directional lighting with DC or DCC control.

The model is suitable for use on curves with a minimum radius of 438mm, and features a length of 269mm. It is designed for use on 16.5mm track, and is supplied with a NEM standard coupling socket and mini tension lock coupler. The model is available as number 5446, and is a highly detailed representation of a British Railways Mark 2B TSO coach from the 1960s.
