Accurascale has released a new OO gauge model of a British Rail Mark 2B Tourist Second Open coach, number 5482, in blue and grey livery. This coach is one of a series of vehicles built by BREL at its Litchurch Lane Works in Derby between 1963 and 1975. The model features highly-detailed exterior rivet work and a fully-detailed underframe with numerous separate parts.

The model is highly accurate, with separately-applied etched metal and high-fidelity plastic parts, including handrails, brake and steam heat pipes, ETH cabling and sockets, and roof vents. It also features prism-free glazing and pre-painted destination boards.

The interior of the model is also highly detailed, with characteristic 'winged' headrests, separate metal interior handrails, and a fully-detailed guard's compartment. The model is equipped with a full lighting package, including magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting and directional lighting with DC or DCC control.

The model is designed for OO gauge track, with a minimum radius curve of 438mm. It is 269mm in length and features a NEM standard coupling socket with a mini tension lock coupler. The model is available in a range of liveries, but this particular example is in blue and grey livery, as worn by British Rail during the period represented by the model, which is the British Rail Blue era.
