Manufacturer description
Never before produced in ready-to-run form in any scale, accurascale is excited to reveal the latest addition to its eagerly-anticipated range of 4mm/OO gauge Mk.2 coaching stock, the late-style Mk.2c variant with their characteristic small 'air con'-style toilet windows. Famously designed to be retrofitted with air-conditioning equipment, a modification that never took place, 150 vehicles were built at Litchurch Lane, Derby, in 1969-70 to five designs (out of 250 Mk.2c in total), primarily for the London Midland Region: Tourist Second Open (TSO), Corridor First (FK), Open First (FO), Brake Corridor First (BFK) and Brake Open Second (BSO). In the 1980s four further types were introduced, SK and SO (declassified from first class), Corridor Composite (converted from FK for Scottish Region services) and a mini buffet with trolley space, known as TSO(T). All nine of these versions will feature in our production.

Accurascale has released a new model of the Mark 2C TSO(T) coach in Network SouthEast livery, numbered 6500. This coach is part of the BR Mark 2A-C range and features a unique design with small 'air con' style toilet windows.

The coach is built to a high level of detail, with features such as exterior rivet detail, etched metal and plastic parts, and a fully-detailed underframe. The model is available in 4mm/00 gauge and is designed to run on 16.5mm track.

The model is based on the real-life coaches built by BREL at Litchurch Lane Works in Derby between 1963 and 1975. It is part of a larger range of Mk.2 coaching stock that Accurascale is producing, featuring various versions of the Mk.2c coach.

The model features a range of detailed components, including handrails, brake and steam heat pipes, ETH cabling and sockets, footsteps, and roof vents. The coach is also equipped with prism-free glazing and pre-painted etched metal water filler covers.

The underframe is fully detailed, with numerous separate parts and accurate differences between versions. The model features accurate B4 bogies, which can be re-gauged to EM or P4 gauges. The wheels are blackened RP25.110 profile and have 14.4mm back-to-back measurements and 26mm over pinpoint measurements.

The interior of the coach is also highly detailed, with characteristic 'winged' headrests, metal interior handrails on brake and corridor vehicles, and a fully-detailed guard's compartment. The model features a minimum radius of 438mm (2nd Radius Set-track) and a coach length of 269mm.
