Manufacturer description
Never before produced in ready-to-run form in any scale, accurascale is excited to reveal the latest addition to its eagerly-anticipated range of 4mm/OO gauge Mk.2 coaching stock, the late-style Mk.2c variant with their characteristic small 'air con'-style toilet windows. Famously designed to be retrofitted with air-conditioning equipment, a modification that never took place, 150 vehicles were built at Litchurch Lane, Derby, in 1969-70 to five designs (out of 250 Mk.2c in total), primarily for the London Midland Region: Tourist Second Open (TSO), Corridor First (FK), Open First (FO), Brake Corridor First (BFK) and Brake Open Second (BSO). In the 1980s four further types were introduced, SK and SO (declassified from first class), Corridor Composite (converted from FK for Scottish Region services) and a mini buffet with trolley space, known as TSO(T). All nine of these versions will feature in our production.

Accurascale has released a new model in its 4mm/oo gauge Mk.2 coaching stock range, the Mk.2C BSO Blue/Grey BR with ScotRail branding, No.9446. This model is a representation of the late-style Mk.2c variant with small 'air con'-style toilet windows.

The model is built to a high standard with many features, including separately-applied etched metal and high-fidelity plastic parts, such as handrails, brake/steam heat pipes, ETH cabling and sockets, footsteps, and roof vents. The underframe is fully detailed with numerous separate parts, pipe runs, and accurate differences between versions.

The model features a highly detailed interior, including 'winged' headrests, separate metal interior handrails on the brake and corridor vehicles, and a fully detailed guard's compartment. The NEM standard coupling sockets are correct in height, with mini tension lock couplers and kinematic close-coupling.

The model is designed for use on 16.5mm track and has a minimum radius of 438mm. The wheel-sets are blackened RP25.110 profile with 14.4mm back-to-back measurements and 26mm over pinpoints. The buffers are designed for retracted and non-retracted positions.

The model is part of Accurascale's range of Mk.2 coaching stock, which will include nine different versions. The range represents the late-style Mk.2c variant, built at Litchurch Lane, Derby, in 1969-70, and the four additional types introduced in the 1980s.

Key features of the model include:

* Highly detailed OO gauge / 1:76.2 scale models
* Extremely fine exterior rivet detail
* Separately-applied etched metal and high-fidelity plastic parts
* Prism Free Glazing
* Pre-painted etched metal water filler covers
* Fully-detailed underframe
* Accurate B4 bogies with provision for re-gauging to EM or P4 gauges
* Blackened RP25.110 profile wheel-sets
* Different buffers for retracted and non-retracted positions
* Accurate interiors with characteristic 'winged' headrests
* Correct height NEM standard coupling sockets
* Full lighting package, including magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting and directional lighting with DC or DCC control.
