Accurascale Derby RTC Test Service Vehicles – Twin Pack

The product is a twin‑pack of OO gauge (1:76.2) Mark 2B coaches in the Research Department livery. The two coaches are numbered QXA ADB 977528 and QXA ADB 977529, both formerly FK (Corridor First) vehicles. The packs are limited to 500 sets and include a numbered Limited Edition Certificate and special presentation packaging.

The models represent British Rail coaches built by BREL at the Derby Litchurch Lane Works between 1963 and 1975. They are based on the 1969 production of 111 coaches of three types – Tourist Second Open, Corridor First and Brake Corridor First – and faithfully reproduce the British Rail Blue (TOPS) period. Each coach has a minimum curve radius of 438 mm (radius 2) and a length of 269 mm.

Key details include:
- B4 or B5 bogies with provision for re‑gauging to EM or P4 gauges
- RP25.110 profile wheel‑sets with 14.4 mm back‑to‑back measurement
- NEM standard coupling sockets with mini tension‑lock couplers and optional conversion to Kadee‑compatible knuckle couplers
- Fully detailed exterior with rivet work, etched metal and plastic parts, prism‑free glazing and pre‑painted Western Region destination boards
- Accurate interior featuring winged headrests, metal handrails, a guard’s compartment and magnet‑wand controlled interior lighting with a ‘Stay‑Alive’ capacitor
- Free‑running track pickup and directional lighting controllable by DC or DCC on the driving trailer

The models are supplied with all necessary components for assembly and operation on 16.5 mm track. The limited edition nature and high level of detail make the set a collector’s item for enthusiasts of British railway modelling.
