Model Railway shops in the North East

Model Shop Categories

To try and give you some indication of what to expect, we've categorised shops in our database into six types.

• Model Railway Shop - a shop where the primary or sole focus is on model railways.
• Model Shop - a model shop covering a range of modelling disciplines, not just model railways, but that stocks a significant range of model railway products.
• Toy Shop - a shop aimed primarily at products for children, but including model railway items.
• Arts and Crafts Shop - a supplier of primarily art, craft and hobby supplies. These may include some model railway items, as well as products such as scenery items, paints, glues, etc.
• Tourist Attraction - a gift shop associated with a tourist attraction, such as a heritage railway or museum, that includes a selection of model railway products.
• General Retail - a retailer where the primary focus is not modelling, but that also has a selection of model railway products.

These categories are fairly broad brush and don't necessarily give any indication of the size of the shop or the range of products available.
