Accurascale has released a new OO gauge model of a British Railways Mark 2B Tourist Second Open coach, numbered 5487, in West Coast Railway maroon livery. The model is part of a range of high-quality rolling stock that fills a gap in the market for accurate 4mm scale models.

The model features a number of accurate details, including exterior rivet work, etched metal and high-fidelity plastic parts, and a fully-detailed underframe. The bogies are modelled with accurate B4 and B5 profiles, allowing for conversion to EM or P4 gauges. The model also features blackened RP25.110 wheel-sets and different buffers for retracted and non-retracted positions.

The interior of the model includes characteristic 'winged' headrests, metal interior handrails, and a fully-detailed guard's compartment. Lighting is provided through a full package, including magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting, 'stay-alive' capacitors, and directional lighting with DC or DCC control.

The model is designed for use on OO gauge track with a minimum radius of 438mm, and measures 269mm in length. It features a NEM standard coupling socket and a tension lock coupler, allowing for easy connection to other models.
