Manufacturer description
Never before produced in ready-to-run form in any scale, accurascale is excited to reveal the latest addition to its eagerly-anticipated range of 4mm/OO gauge Mk.2 coaching stock, the late-style Mk.2c variant with their characteristic small 'air con'-style toilet windows. Famously designed to be retrofitted with air-conditioning equipment, a modification that never took place, 150 vehicles were built at Litchurch Lane, Derby, in 1969-70 to five designs (out of 250 Mk.2c in total), primarily for the London Midland Region: Tourist Second Open (TSO), Corridor First (FK), Open First (FO), Brake Corridor First (BFK) and Brake Open Second (BSO). In the 1980s four further types were introduced, SK and SO (declassified from first class), Corridor Composite (converted from FK for Scottish Region services) and a mini buffet with trolley space, known as TSO(T). All nine of these versions will feature in our production.

Accurascale's OO gauge Mark 2C MK2C BFK Blue/Grey Intercity Livery coach is a highly detailed model of a British Railways coach from the 1960s. The model is based on the BR Mark 2A-C coach type and features a B4 or B5 bogie arrangement.

The model represents a Brake First (BFK) coach in the iconic BR Blue/Grey livery, and is one of ten differently numbered coaches in the range. The coach was built at BREL's Derby Litchurch Lane Works between 1963 and 1975.

The model features a number of accurate details, including highly-detailed exterior rivet work, separately-applied etched metal and high-fidelity plastic parts, and a fully-detailed underframe. The interior is also accurately represented, with characteristic 'winged' headrests and separate metal interior handrails.

The model is designed to be highly flexible, with a minimum radius curve of 438mm (2nd Radius Set-track) and the ability to be re-gauged to EM or P4 gauges. The model also features a full lighting package, including magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting and a 'Stay-Alive' capacitor in all coaches.

The Mark 2C range is a continuation of Accurascale's research into the Mark 2 coach family, which began with their Mark 2B coaches. The range includes a number of different variants, including Tourist Second Open, Corridor First, Open First, Brake Corridor First, and Brake Open Second, and is designed to be a complement to their existing Mark 2B range.
