Accurascale has released a new model of the British Railways Mark 2B Tourist Second Open coach, no. 5463, in the Provincial Trans-Pennine livery.

This OO gauge model is part of the company's Mk.2b series of coaches, which includes three different designs: Tourist Second Open, Corridor First, and Brake Corridor First. The model is built to a high level of detail, with features such as exterior rivet detail, separately-applied etched metal and plastic parts, and a fully-detailed underframe.

The model is accurate to the original prototype, with differences between versions taken into account. The bogies are designed to be adjustable, allowing the model to be converted to EM or P4 gauges. The wheels are blackened RP25.110 profile, with 14.4mm back-to-back measurements and 26mm over pinpoints.

The interior of the model features accurate details, including 'winged' headrests, separate metal interior handrails, and a fully-detailed guard's compartment. The model also includes a lighting package, with magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting, 'stay-alive' capacitor, and directional lighting with DC or DCC control.

The model has a length of 269mm and a minimum radius of curve of 438mm, making it suitable for use on 2nd radius track. It is also designed to work with all wheels, with power pickup available from all wheels.
