Manufacturer description
Never before produced in ready-to-run form in any scale, accurascale is excited to reveal the latest addition to its eagerly-anticipated range of 4mm/OO gauge Mk.2 coaching stock, the late-style Mk.2c variant with their characteristic small 'air con'-style toilet windows. Famously designed to be retrofitted with air-conditioning equipment, a modification that never took place, 150 vehicles were built at Litchurch Lane, Derby, in 1969-70 to five designs (out of 250 Mk.2c in total), primarily for the London Midland Region: Tourist Second Open (TSO), Corridor First (FK), Open First (FO), Brake Corridor First (BFK) and Brake Open Second (BSO). In the 1980s four further types were introduced, SK and SO (declassified from first class), Corridor Composite (converted from FK for Scottish Region services) and a mini buffet with trolley space, known as TSO(T). All nine of these versions will feature in our production.

Accurascale has announced a new addition to their range of 4mm/00 gauge Mk.2 coaching stock, a Mark 2C Tourist Second Open coach in Provincial livery with TransPennine branding. This model is part of a larger range of nine different Mk.2c variants.

The Mark 2C TSO Provincial blue coach features a unique livery and is a rare model in OO gauge. It has a minimum radius curve of 438mm and is designed to run on 16.5mm track. The model includes a range of features such as separately-applied etched metal and plastic parts, including handrails, brake pipes, ETH cabling, and roof vents.

The interior of the coach is fully detailed, with characteristic 'winged' headrests, separate metal handrails, and a fully-detailed guard's compartment. The model also features a lighting package, including magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting, 'stay-alive' capacitors, and directional lighting with DC or DCC control.

The Mark 2C TSO Provincial blue coach has been built to a high level of detail and accuracy, with accurate B4 bogies and blackened RP25.110 profile wheels. The model is designed to be versatile, with the option to re-gauge the bogies to EM or P4 gauges. The coach also features a pre-painted etched metal water filler cover and a variety of separately-applied parts, including footsteps and dummy drophead knuckle couplers.

This model is part of a larger range of Mk.2c variants, which will be released by Accurascale in the future. The range includes a total of nine different designs, each featuring unique characteristics and details. The Mark 2C TSO Provincial blue coach is a highly detailed and accurate model, suitable for modellers of British Rail's Mk.2 coaching stock.
