Accurascale 9016 – Porterbrook Purple is a 1:76.2 OO scale model of a Class 55 ‘Deltic’ locomotive, designated number 9016. The model is supplied DCC ready with a 21‑pin MTX socket and is offered with factory fitted DCC sound. It represents the period of the initial privatisation of British Rail.

The locomotive is detailed in Porterbrook leasing purple, the livery applied after an overhaul at Brush Traction’s Loughborough Works in September 1999. The model includes period‑accurate features such as WIPAC light clusters, fabricated bogies, dual brakes, original headcode panel, and original headlights. Additional fitted items are battery louvres, a revised fan, four windscreens wipers, and ETH/steam train heating equipment.

Mechanically the model uses a five‑pole motor with two flywheels and a helical gearbox, enabling a scale top speed of 120 mph (193 km/h). It is all‑wheel drive with all‑wheel pickup and includes a PowerPack capacitor for uninterrupted DCC power. The traction system is coupled to correct‑height mini‑tension‑lock couplers with NEM socket and a fully detailed buffer beam.

Lighting is provided by a fully detailed pack with directional DC and DCC lighting, marker lights, high‑intensity headlamps, separate cab lighting with auto‑off on movement, and engine‑bay illumination. The model rides on RP25‑110 OO wheels, which can be re‑gauged to P4 or EM gauge, and is fitted with two quality speakers, fully sprung metal buffers and extra‑fine factory fitted pipework. Minimum curve radius is 438 mm (second radius set‑track).
