Accurascale 55005 is a 1:76.2 (OO) scale model of the British Rail Class 55 “Deltic” locomotive, numbered 55005 and named The Prince of Wales’ Own Regiment of Yorkshire. The model is finished in pristine condition, carries the blue British Rail livery and is fitted with DCC sound.

The locomotive features a five‑pole motor with twin flywheels, a metal helical gearbox and all‑wheel drive, allowing a scale top speed of 120 mph. It is equipped with a NEM socket and a correct‑height mini‑tension‑lock coupler, and the minimum radius curve it can negotiate is 438 mm (second‑radius set‑track).

Lighting is fully detailed, with directional and interior lamps, marker lights, a high‑intensity headlight where appropriate, and separate cab lighting that switches off when the model moves. The DCC‑ready version includes a 21‑pin MTX socket, a PowerPack capacitor for uninterrupted power and two quality speakers with large sound capsules. RP25‑110 wheels are supplied, with provision for re‑gauging to P4 and EM gauges.

The model represents British Rail’s blue “TOPS” period (1961–1962) and reproduces period‑specific details such as cast bogies, sand‑box hatches, windscreen wipers, headcode panels and train‑heating equipment. It is produced by Accurascale under part number ACC2155D9005DCC.
