Accurascale 55005 is a 1:76.2 (OO gauge) die‑cast model of the British Rail Class 55 “Deltic” locomotive numbered 55005, named The Prince of Wales’ Own Regiment of Yorkshire. The locomotive is presented in the original British Rail blue livery and carries the TOPS period markings. It was originally built by English Electric at the Vulcan Foundry in 1961–62, where 22 examples of the class were produced for British Rail.

The model features a five‑pole motor with twin flywheels and a metal helical gearbox, allowing a scale top speed of 120 mph (193 km/h). Power is taken from all wheels and the unit is DCC ready via a 21‑pin MTX socket, with an optional factory‑fitted sound system. Coupling is provided by correct‑height mini‑tension‑lock couplers with an NEM socket and a fully detailed buffer beam.

Detailing includes cast bogies, etched metal and high‑fidelity plastic parts such as grab handles, steps, nameplates and crests. Lighting is comprehensive, with directional DCC/DC lights, separate cab illumination, marker lights, and an engine‑bay light. The model uses RP25‑110 OO wheels, which can be re‑gauged for P4 or EM gauge, and it is capable of negotiating a minimum radius of 438 mm (second‑radius set‑track).
