Accurascale D9004 is a 1:76.2 (OO scale) model of a British Railways Class 55 “Deltic” locomotive, representing the late‑crest period of British Railways. The locomotive was built by English Electric at the Vulcan Foundry between 1961 and 1962, with a total production run of 22 units.

The model is finished in a pristine two‑tone green livery and carries the running number D9004. It is DCC ready with a 21‑pin MTX socket and can be supplied with factory‑fitted DCC sound. The chassis is die‑cast alloy and houses a five‑pole motor with twin flywheels, a metal helical gearbox and all‑wheel drive with power pickup from all wheels. The gearing allows a scale top speed of 120 mph (193 km/h). The locomotive uses correct‑height mini‑tension‑lock couplers with an NEM socket and a fully detailed buffer beam.

Lighting is fully detailed and includes directional headlights, marker lights, cab lighting and engine‑bay illumination, all of which can be operated in DC or DCC mode. When coupled, the marker lights can be switched off. The model also features a fully detailed lighting pack for interior and exterior illumination, and, on sound‑fitted examples, two quality speakers with large sound capsules.

The model includes numerous period‑specific details such as fabricated bogies, cast and fabricated components, horn positions, exhaust ports, headcode panels, windscreen wipers, cab side windows, sandbox hatches, louvres, headlights and train‑heating equipment. RP25‑110 OO wheels are fitted with a provision for re‑gauging to P4 and EM gauge. The minimum curve radius is 438 mm (second‑radius set‑track).
