Accurascale D9020 “Nimbus” is a highly detailed OO gauge (1:76.2) model of a British Railways Class 55 Deltic locomotive. The kit is supplied in pristine condition with a British Rail green livery featuring the late crest, and carries the running number D9020. It represents a locomotive built between 1961 and 1962, one of a total production run of 22, and is intended to depict the late‑crest period of British Railways.

The model incorporates a five‑pole motor with twin flywheels and a metal helical gearbox, providing all‑wheel drive and a scale top speed of 120 mph (193 km/h). It is DCC ready via a 21‑pin MTX socket and is factory fitted with DCC sound, including two large‑capacity speakers. A PowerPack capacitor is fitted for uninterrupted power, and the locomotive can operate on both DC and DCC.

Mechanical features include a die‑cast alloy chassis, correct‑height mini‑tension‑lock couplers with an NEM socket, and RP25‑110 wheels that can be re‑gauged to P4 or EM gauge. The minimum curve radius is 438 mm (second‑radius set‑track). The model is equipped with a full lighting pack – directional lighting, cab and engine‑bay illumination, and optional high‑intensity headlights – all of which can be switched off when the locomotive is coupled.

Additional detailing covers windscreen wipers, nose‑front sandbox hatches, horn positioned on the buffer beam, upper central lamp iron, and various etched metal and high‑fidelity plastic parts such as grab handles, nameplates and crests. The locomotive also features fully sprung metal buffers and extra fine factory‑fitted pipework, delivering an accurate and operationally robust representation of the historic Class 55.
