Accurascale D9006 “The Fife and Forfar Yeomanry” is a 1:76.2 (OO scale) die‑cast model of a British Railways Class 55 Deltic locomotive representing the late‑crest period of British Railways. The locomotive was originally built by English Electric at the Vulcan Foundry between 1961 and 1962, with a total production run of 22 units. The model portrays unit D9006 in pristine condition, carrying the two‑tone green livery and the name “The Fife and Forfar Yeomanry”.

The model is finished in pristine condition with a two‑tone green livery and the original BR number D9006. It features a five‑pole motor with twin flywheels, a metal helical gearbox and a 21‑pin MTX DCC socket (factory‑fitted DCC sound optional). The locomotive runs on all wheels with power pickup on every axle, uses a NEM plus tension‑lock coupling, and is supplied with correctly sized RP25‑110 OO wheels (re‑gaugeable to P4 or EM). It is capable of a scale top speed of around 120 mph (193 km/h) and has a minimum curve radius of 438 mm (2nd radius set‑track). The wheel arrangement is Co‑Co and the locomotive is equipped with a sprung metal bufferbeam and fully detailed mini‑tension‑lock couplers.

Lighting is fully detailed with directional headlamps, marker lights, separate cab illumination, engine‑bay lighting and interior lighting, all controllable in DC or DCC. Additional features include realistic windscreens with twin wipers per pane, sand‑box hatches, battery compartment louvres, cab side windows, horn positioned on the nose, and a high‑intensity headlight where applicable. The model also incorporates etched metal and high‑fidelity plastic detail parts such as grab handles, steps, nameplates, crests and lamp irons.

Performance enhancements comprise the five‑pole motor with twin flywheels, a metal helical gearbox for smooth low‑speed running, and all‑wheel drive with power pickup on every axle. The model includes a PowerPack capacitor for uninterrupted DCC power, dual quality speakers with large capsules on sound‑fitted versions, and a fully sprung buffer system. The package also provides the option of re‑gauging wheels for P4 or EM gauges and includes extra fine factory‑fitted pipework for added realism.
