Accurascale D9020 “Nimbus” is a highly detailed 1:76.2 (OO scale) model of a British Railways Class 55 diesel locomotive. The chassis is die‑cast alloy with a five‑pole motor, twin flywheels and a metal helical gear box, giving a scale top speed of 120 mph (193 km/h). All wheels provide power pickup and the locomotive is fitted with a 21‑pin DCC‑ready socket and a PowerPack capacitor for uninterrupted operation.

The model is finished in British Railways green with a late crest livery and carries the running number D9020. It includes a range of period‑specific details such as two windscreen wipers per pane, sand‑box hatches, an upper central lamp iron, a buffer‑beam horn position and a fully detailed buffer beam. Etched metal and high‑fidelity plastic components provide grab handles, steps, nameplates and crests, while the couplers are correct‑height mini‑tension‑lock types with NEM sockets.

Lighting is supplied by a fully detailed pack offering directional, interior and marker lights, with separate switches for cab illumination and a high‑intensity headlight where applicable. The RP25‑110 OO wheels can be re‑gauged to P4 or EM gauge, and the model features fully sprung metal buffers and extra fine factory‑fitted pipework.

The locomotive represents the period 1961–1962, when 22 examples were built by English Electric at the Vulcan Foundry for British Railways. It is capable of running on minimum radius curves of 438 mm (second radius set‑track).
