Accurascale 55022 Royal Scots Grey is a 1:76.2 (OO scale) model of a British Rail Class 55 (Deltic) diesel locomotive, representing the locomotive as it appeared in the British Rail Blue livery with grey grilles and the pre‑TOPS number D9000. The model is finished in pristine condition, bears the running number 55022, and carries the name Royal Scots Grey.

The chassis is die‑cast alloy with a five‑pole motor and twin flywheels, driving all wheels through a metal helical gearbox. Gearing is set to allow a scale top speed of 120 mph (193 km/h). The locomotive is DCC ready, fitted with a 21‑pin MTX socket, PowerPack capacitor and two factory‑installed speakers with large sound capsules. A fully detailed lighting pack provides directional and interior illumination, including separate cab lighting, marker lights and an optional high‑intensity headlight.

Detailing includes cast bogies, correctly placed horn, exhaust ports, headcode panels, windscreen wipers (one per pane), plated‑over cab side windows, sandbox hatches and battery‑compartment louvres. Etched metal and high‑fidelity plastic parts such as grab handles, steps, nameplates and crests are applied separately. The model uses RP25‑110 OO wheels, with provision for re‑gauging to P4 or EM gauge, and features correct‑height mini‑tension‑lock couplers with NEM socket and a fully sprung buffer beam.

The locomotive can negotiate a minimum radius of 438 mm (second‑radius set‑track) and includes fully sprung metal buffers and extra fine factory‑fitted pipework. It represents the period 1961–1962 when 22 members of the class were built for British Rail, with a maximum real‑world speed of 100 mph.
