Accurascale 55022 “Royal Scots Grey” is a 1:76.2 (OO) scale die‑cast alloy model of a British Rail Class 55 (Deltic) locomotive, painted in the original British Rail blue livery with grey grilles and the pre‑TOPS number D9000. It represents a locomotive built by English Electric at the Vulcan Foundry during 1961‑1962, of which only 22 were produced for the operator British Rail.

The model features a five‑pole motor with twin flywheels, a metal helical gear box and all‑wheel drive with power pickup from all wheels. RP25‑110 wheels are fitted, with the possibility of re‑gauging to P4 or EM gauge, and the minimum curve radius is 438 mm (2nd radius). A 21‑pin MTX socket provides DCC readiness, and a PowerPack capacitor ensures uninterrupted power; factory‑fitted sound packs include two large speakers.

Detail work comprises separately applied etched metal and high‑fidelity plastic parts such as grab handles, steps, wipers, nameplates, crests, and a full suite of cab fittings – windscreen wipers, horn position, headcode panel, sandbox hatches, battery‑compartment louvres, lamp irons, ETH train heating equipment and more. The model is fitted with correct mini‑tension‑lock couplers together with a NEM socket, fully sprung metal buffers and a detailed bufferbeam.

A complete lighting pack provides directional lighting, interior and engine‑bay illumination, marker lights (which can be switched off when coupled) and a high‑intensity headlight where applicable. Cab lighting is switched separately and automatically switches off when the model moves.

The gearing is arranged to allow a scale top speed of 120 mph (193 km/h), and the model carries the manufacturer part number ACC2150D9000. It is supplied as DCC ready and, where fitted, includes factory sound.
