The O&K JHA hoppers were built by Orenstein & Koppel to coincide with the introduction of the Class 59’s in the UK for aggregate haulage by Foster Yeoman. They remain in service to date with Mendip Rail Ltd. A rake of these wagons consist of two outer wagons and a number of inner wagons.
The notable feature is that the two outer wagons have screw link couplings and buffers on the outer most edge of the train, whilst the connection between inner wagons is a buckeye style coupling allowing closer coupling and hence an overall reduction in length of the train which was considered an important design aim.

The Dapol O & K JHA (middle hopper) Foster Yeoman 19354 Late model is a OO gauge model of a British railway wagon. It is designed to represent the Orenstein & Koppel (O&K) JHA hoppers built in 1988 to 1989 for use by Foster Yeoman.
These wagons were built to work with the Class 59 locomotives and are still in service with Mendip Rail Ltd. The model features two types of wagons: inner wagons with buckeye couplings and outer wagons with screw link couplings and buffers.
The model is made from diecast chassis and features profiled wheels. It is designed from works drawings and includes a number of separately added details. The inner wagons have buckeye couplings and no buffers, while the outer wagons have a lamp, sprung buffers, and a standard OO model coupling with an NEM pocket.
The model also features a close coupling mechanism that allows it to operate on a minimum radius of 438mm. An accessory pack is included containing two versions of interconnecting pipes: a loose, unconnected version and a flexible version that can be connected between adjacent wagons. The model also features a working rear lamp that can be controlled using a 6-pin DCC socket.
The specifications of the model are as follows: length over buffer is 182mm, width is 33mm, and height is 48mm. The model is designed to represent the rebuilding of the railways in the UK.
