Manufacturer description

8751 is just one week older than 8764 listed above, and as such features many similarities, however by the time it is seen represented in the GWR wartime era black livery, it had gained the steps to the bunkerBuilt at Swindon by the GWR during September 1933. Built as part of Lot 282, Second locomotive with the new larger design cab but still featuring early details such as tank fillers. Our locomotive was built without topfeed but had it fitted probably around the same time that it was repainted in to black as it continued in this condition for some years in to BR use, just with the addition of a smokebox numberplate. New to Old Oak Common, it would be reallocated to Ebbw Junction (86A) in 1960 before being condemned in 1962.

Accurascale 8750 Class – 8751 – GWR Black – DCC Sound Fitted is a model railway locomotive representing the Great Western Railway 57xx/67xx/8750 class. The model is supplied in GWR green livery with the option to fit the GWR wartime black livery, and it incorporates DCC sound equipment. The manufacturer part number is ACC3552-DCC and the period represented is the era of the Big Four railway companies (LNER, LMS, GWR and SR).

The prototype locomotive was built at Swindon by the GWR in September 1933 as part of Lot 282. It was the second of its batch to receive the larger cab design while retaining early features such as tank fillers. Originally built without a topfeed, this fitting was added later, coinciding with the repaint into black livery. The locomotive continued in this appearance into British Railways service, gaining a smokebox number plate.

In its later operational life the engine was allocated to Old Oak Common before being transferred to Ebbw Junction (86A) in 1960. It was condemned in 1962.
