Manufacturer description

8751 is just one week older than 8764 listed above, and as such features many similarities, however by the time it is seen represented in the GWR wartime era black livery, it had gained the steps to the bunkerBuilt at Swindon by the GWR during September 1933. Built as part of Lot 282, Second locomotive with the new larger design cab but still featuring early details such as tank fillers. Our locomotive was built without topfeed but had it fitted probably around the same time that it was repainted in to black as it continued in this condition for some years in to BR use, just with the addition of a smokebox numberplate. New to Old Oak Common, it would be reallocated to Ebbw Junction (86A) in 1960 before being condemned in 1962.
