Prototype Era
Era 5 (1956 to 1966) British Railways Late Crest

Manufacturer description

Completed nearly six years after D6700 had left Vulcan Foundary, D6600 was the first of nine English Electric Type 3s to be numbered out of sequence as the fleet outgrew its allocated series and bumped up against the Western Regions D7000 'Hymek' locomotives. Delivered to 86A Cardiff Canton in August 1965 and then to Swansea Landore in 1971, later gaining the number 37300, it spent the first 20 years of its life primarily on freight duties in and around South Wales before eventually moving to Scotland at the start of 1985. It had barely settled in north of the border when it received the call to Crewe Works in the October for refurbishment as one of the Welsh-based Class 37/4s, 37429. D6600 wears its original BR green with small yellow warning panel and features its as-built nose condition with no riveted strenthening plate and WR-style lamp irons only.

Accurascale's Class 37/0 D6600 is a highly detailed OO scale model of a BR Green diesel locomotive with a small yellow warning panel. The model features a Class 37 locomotive, built by English Electric at the Vulcan Foundry and Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns, between 1960 and 1965. It represents the British Railways Late Crest period.

D6600 was delivered to 86A Cardiff Canton in August 1965 and later moved to Swansea Landore in 1971, where it was renumbered 37300. The model features its original BR green livery with a small yellow warning panel and as-built nose condition, including a non-riveted strengthening plate and WR-style lamp irons.

Common features of the model include a highly detailed OO scale representation, a heavy die-cast metal chassis, and accurate tumbleholme, nose, cab roof, and cantrail curves. The model also features timeframe-specific details, such as different bogies, fuel tanks, and headcode displays.

The model is DCC ready with a 21-pin socket and includes interior lighting. It has a minimum radius curve of 438mm and features all-wheel power pickup and a NEM/Tension lock coupling. The model is designed for use on OO gauge track with a minimum radius of 2nd radius Set-track.
