Accurascale has released a new model of the British Rail Class 37/6 locomotive, specifically the 37607 in original Direct Rail Services livery. This OO scale model features a 'flush' nose with no plated door and WIPAC light clusters, as well as a DRS multiple-working socket on the nose. The model has a minimum radius curve requirement of 2nd Radius (438mm) and is DCC ready, with a 21-pin socket.

The model is built to a high standard, with a highly detailed die-cast metal chassis and accurate tumbleholme, nose, cab roof, and cantrail curves taken from a 3D Laser scan and extensive surveys. The model includes a range of features specific to the Class 37/6, such as operational WIPAC light clusters and top headlights.

The model is available in a variety of liveries, including Direct Rail Services blue with original logos, and features a range of details including etched metal and high-fidelity plastic parts. The model also includes a range of options, such as miniature snowploughs and single cab door kickplates.

The model is powered by a high-performance five-pole motor with two flywheels and a metal helical gearbox, and features all wheel drive and all wheel pickup. The model also includes a fully detailed lighting pack, including directional lighting, fully functional headlights, and WIPAC light clusters.

The model is available in both DCC ready and DCC sound versions, with the latter featuring a ESU LokSound V5 DCC chip and customised dual-speaker technology. The model includes a power pack and backup power capacitor bank for up to 10 seconds of power-free running, flicker-free lighting, and continuous sound.
