Accurascale 37026 “Shapfell” – DCC Sound Fitted is a highly detailed OO‑scale (1:76.2) model of a British Rail Class 37/0 locomotive, representing the early‑1990s British Rail sectorisation era. The model carries the Railfreight Distribution triple‑grey livery and includes period‑accurate fittings such as a split‑headcode nose with plated boxes, Scottish “car‑style” headlights, original nose grilles, cut‑away buffer‑beam cowling with oval buffers and a steam‑heat pipe arrangement.

The locomotive is built on a heavy die‑cast metal chassis with dimensions and curves taken from 3D laser scans and extensive surveys. Details include fabricated bogies, original fuel‑tank configuration, early‑era roof rivetting, plated water filler and steps, and optional miniature snowploughs. All external parts such as grab handles, nameplates, crests and wipers are etched metal or high‑fidelity plastic, and the under‑body features full tank detail, pipework and correctly proportioned buffer‑beam couplers.

The model is supplied ready for DCC operation with a 21‑pin MTX socket and an ESU LokSound 5 sound board, incorporating a dual‑speaker system, a power‑pack super‑capacitor for up to ten seconds of power‑free running and flicker‑free lighting. It includes a five‑pole motor with a metal helical gearbox, all‑wheel drive and gearing capable of a scale top speed of 100 mph (160 km/h). Lighting packs provide functional headlights, engine‑bay illumination, WIPAC clusters where appropriate, cab lighting and switchable red tail lights. RP25‑110 OO‑gauge wheels are fitted, with optional drop‑in versions for EM (18.2 mm) and P4 (18.83 mm) gauges.
