Accurascale has released a new OO scale model of the British Rail Class 37/6 diesel locomotive, specifically 37608 'Andromeda', which was operated by Europhoenix. The model is fitted with DCC sound and features a Rail Operations Group livery.

This model is one of a limited run of 12 locomotives produced in the OO scale, and is designed to represent the class of locomotives built by English Electric at the Vulcan Foundry and Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns between 1994 and 1996. The model features a high level of detail, including a 'flush' nose with no plated door and WIPAC light clusters, as well as a cutaway bufferbeam cowling with squared oval buffers.

The model has a number of features that are specific to the Class 37/6, including a revised DRS control desk and centre cab partition, and a cast bogie design. It also includes a range of optional details, such as miniature snowploughs and different types of bufferbeam configurations.

The model is highly detailed and features a range of unique features, including accurate tumbleholme and nose curves, and time-specific details such as different types of bogies, fuel tanks, and bufferbeams. It also includes a range of separately applied etched metal and high-fidelity plastic detail parts, including grab handles, aerials, and nameplates.

The model is DCC ready and comes with a 21-pin MTX socket or can be factory-fitted with an ESU LokSound 5 sound decoder. It also includes a PowerPack/Backup Power Capacitor Bank for up to ten seconds of power-free running and flicker-free lighting.

The model has a number of features that make it suitable for use on OO gauge track, including RP25-110 profile wheels and a minimum radius of 438mm. It is also compatible with EM and P4 gauges, with fine-scale 'drop-in' wheels available separately. The model is a highly detailed and accurate representation of the Class 37/6 locomotive, and is sure to be popular with modellers of British locomotives.
