Manufacturer description

Although the last 75 or so EE Type 3s were delivered after the debut of the new British Rail 'corporate image' on Brush Type 4 D1733 in May 1964 all 309 locomotives were outshopped from Vulcan Foundary in BR green. Despite their relative youth, repaints into the new blue scheme were not uncommon before 1970 and a not insignificant number gained double arrows and Rail alphabet numbers on all four cabsides. D6992 was the highest numbered example, and was recorded in this livery variation - still with D-prefixed number - in the second half of 1969, just four years after debuting at 86A Cardiff Canton in July 1965 for freight work. It was redesignated as 37292 under TOPS and moved to Eastfield and then Motherwell in 1981, later receiving an experimental uprated 2,000hp 12CSVT same year. Incredibly this locomotive is still with us and even appeared in our first production run as DRS 'Regional Railways' heritage repaint 37425.

Accurascale's Class 37/0 D6992 in BR Blue Pre-TOPS Livery

Accurascale's OO scale model of the Class 37/0 diesel locomotive is available in BR Blue livery, specifically the pre-TOPS era. This model features a 1:76.2 scale representation of the locomotive, with a heavy die-cast metal chassis and accurate details such as tumbleholme, nose, cab roof, and cantrail curves.

The model is DCC ready, with a 21-pin socket, and features interior lighting. It has a minimum radius curve requirement of 438mm, and power pickup is provided by all wheels. The coupling is a NEM/Tension lock type.

The model is built to a specific time period, representing the British Rail Blue livery in the pre-TOPS era. The Class 37/0 was a relatively young locomotive when it was repainted into the new blue scheme, with many examples receiving the new livery in the late 1960s.

Accurascale's model features a range of details, including multiple body and nose slides to accurately represent almost every member of the Class 37. The model also includes separately applied etched metal and high-fidelity plastic detail parts, such as grab handles, aerials, steps, wipers, nameplates, crests, and more.

The model also features a range of lighting options, including directional lighting on DC and DCC, fully functional headlights, engine bay lighting, and switchable red tail lights. The model is also available with a factory-installed DCC sound system, featuring an ESU LokSound V5 DCC chip and customised dual-speaker technology.

The model's traction system is designed for high performance, with a high-quality five-pole motor, metal helical gearbox, and all-wheel drive and pickup. The model is also fully detailed, with a fully detailed lighting pack, including directionally lit headlights, engine bay lighting, and WIPAC light clusters.
