Accurascale has released a OO scale model of the British Rail Class 37/0 diesel locomotive, number 37043, in BR Large Logo Blue livery, specifically representing the mid 1980s period. This model features a highly detailed and accurate design, with numerous features that cater to modellers of the Class 37/0.

The model boasts a heavy die-cast metal chassis, with accurate tumbleholme, nose, cab roof, and cantrail curves. The locomotive's body and nose slides are designed to allow for representation of almost every member of the class, including various cantrail grille styles and roof configurations. The model also features numerous separately applied etched metal and high-fidelity plastic detail parts, including grab handles, aerials, steps, wipers, nameplates, and crests.

The locomotive's bogies are designed to be highly detailed, with separate footsteps, etched footsteps, brake cylinders, speed recorder, end brake rigging, and fine brake chain. The model also features accurate high-fidelity miniature snowploughs and fully sprung metal buffers.

The model is DCC sound fitted with an ESU LokSound V5 DCC chip, featuring customised dual-speaker technology with a large EM2 style bass speaker and a smaller 'iphone' style cube for higher frequencies. The locomotive also features a high-performance traction system, including a high-quality five-pole motor with two flywheels, a metal helical gearbox, and gearing arranged to allow for a scale top speed of 100 mph.

The model also includes a fully detailed lighting pack, featuring directional lighting on DC and DCC, fully functional headlights per prototype, engine bay lighting, WIPAC light clusters, and separately switched cab lighting and illuminated details. Additionally, the model features switchable red tail lights and RP25-110 profile OO gauge wheels, with provision for re-gauging to P4 and EM gauge. The minimum radius curve required for this model is 438mm, equivalent to a 2nd radius set-track.
