Rapido SER/SECR 5‑plank 10 ton open wagon – SR Pre‑’36 Brown No 12407 is a 1:76 scale model of a South Eastern Railway (later South Eastern and Chatham Railway) open wagon. The model carries the manufacturer part number 824018 and represents the pre‑grouping era of British railways.

The prototype wagons were built between 1897 and 1901 to address a rapid increase in freight traffic. About 1 250 open wagons were produced, split between two very similar diagrams: D1340 (round‑ended goods wagon) and D1341 (low‑D‑shaped, coal‑type wagon). Both were 15 ft 5 in long with a 9 ft 4 in wheelbase and carried a 10 ton payload. They were constructed by Ashbury Railway Carriage and Iron Co, Birmingham Railway Carriage and Wagon Co, Oldbury Railway Carriage and Wagon Co and the railway’s own Ashford Works, with some subcontracted work.

In service the wagons were used for goods and coal traffic throughout the South Eastern and later the South Eastern and Chatham Railway. After the 1923 grouping they passed to the Southern Railway, with the last D1340 withdrawn in 1942 and the final D1341 retired in 1948.

The model features split‑spoke wheels in metal bearings, NEM coupler pockets, a high level of detail above and below the floor line, and a faithful brown livery applied with high quality. It is intended for use on OO gauge (1:76) layouts.
