Rapido SER/SECR 5‑plank 10‑ton open wagon – SR Pre‑’36 Brown No 12114 is a 1 : 76 scale (OO gauge) model of a South Eastern Railway (later South Eastern and Chatham Railway) freight wagon. The kit carries the manufacturer part number 824017 and represents a pre‑grouping vehicle built between 1897 and 1901.

The wagon was produced in two closely related diagrams, SR D1340 (round‑ended open goods) and SR D1341 (low‑D‑shaped ends for open coal). Both types measure 15 ft 5 in in overall length with a 9 ft 4 in wheelbase and were rated at 10 tons. They were constructed by Ashbury Railway Carriage and Iron Co, Birmingham Railway Carriage and Wagon Co, Oldbury Railway Carriage and Wagon Co and the railway’s own Ashford Works, with some subcontracted work making exact production numbers ambiguous.

Key details of the model include split‑spoke wheels with metal bearings, NEM coupler pockets, a high level of detailing above and below the floor line, and an authentic high‑quality brown livery applied in the Southern Railway pre‑1936 style. Historically, about 1 250 of these wagons entered service to meet the surge in freight traffic in the final decade of the 19th century, and they remained in operation until the final withdrawals of the D1340 in 1942 and the D1341 in 1948.
