The Rapido SER/SECR 5‑plank 10‑ton open wagon (model number 824014) is a 1:76 scale (OO gauge) replica of pre‑grouping South Eastern Railway and South Eastern and Chatham Railway rolling stock.

The model represents the 5‑plank open goods and coal wagons built between 1897 and 1901, corresponding to Southern Railway diagrams D1340 (open goods) and D1341 (open coal). Both types were 15 ft 5 in long with a 9 ft 4 in wheelbase; the D1341 version featured low‑D‑shaped ends and a Williams pattern sheet rail, while the D1340 had rounded ends.

The kit includes split‑spoke wheels with metal bearings, NEM coupler pockets, a high level of detail above and below the floor line, and a high‑quality SECR Maunsell dark grey livery (colour No 8875).

Historically, about 1 250 of these wagons were constructed by Ashbury Railway Carriage and Iron Co, Birmingham Railway Carriage and Wagon Co, Oldbury Railway Carriage and Wagon Co and the railway’s own Ashford Works. They remained in service through the 1923 grouping into the Southern Railway, with the last D1340 withdrawn in 1942 and the final D1341 in 1948.

The Rapido model is intended for collectors and railway enthusiasts seeking an accurate representation of late‑19th‑century South Eastern railway freight wagons.
