SER/SECR 5‑Plank 10‑ton open wagon – model No 2855, Wainwright Light Grey livery. Manufacturer part number 824009; the model represents the pre‑grouping era of the South Eastern and Chatham Railway (SER/SECR).

The wagon is a 1:76 (OO gauge) replica of the original 5‑plank open goods and coal wagons built between 1897 and 1901. It measures 15 ft 5 in in length with a 9 ft 4 in wheelbase and carries a 10‑ton payload. Two diagrams are reproduced: SR D1340 (square‑ended open goods) and SR D1341 (open coal with low‑D ends and Williams‑pattern sheet rail). Features include split‑spoke wheels with metal bearings, NEM coupler pockets, high‑detail floor‑line work and a high‑quality livery finish.

The prototype wagons were constructed by Ashbury Railway Carriage and Iron Co, Birmingham Railway Carriage and Wagon Co, Oldbury Railway Carriage and Wagon Co and the railway’s own Ashford Works, with some subcontracting. The Southern Railway inherited the majority after the 1923 grouping; the last D1340 was withdrawn in 1942 and the final D1341 in 1948. This model captures those historical details in a faithful, neutral representation.
