Rapido SER/SECR 5‑Plank 10‑ton open wagon – SER Red No. 8220 is a 1:76 (OO gauge) model of a pre‑grouping British railway wagon. The manufacturer part number is 824002 and the model represents the period before the 1923 railway grouping.

The wagon reproduces the Southern Railway diagrams D 1340 (round‑ended open goods) and D 1341 (open coal) that were built between 1897 and 1901 for the South Eastern Railway (SER) and later the South Eastern and Chatham Railway (SECR). About 1 250 of the original 5‑plank wagons were constructed by Ashbury Railway Carriage and Iron Co, Birmingham Railway Carriage and Wagon Co, Oldbury Railway Carriage and Wagon Co and the SER’s Ashford Works. The two diagrams are 15 ft 5 in (4 705 mm) long with a 9 ft 4 in (2 845 mm) wheelbase; D 1341 features low‑D‑shaped ends and Williams‑pattern sheet rail, whereas D 1340 has round ends.

The model includes split‑spoke wheels with metal bearings, NEM coupler pockets, a high level of detail above and below the floor line and a high‑quality livery application in the original SER red. Although the SECR later adopted its own livery, many of the wagons were finished in SECR colours from new.

The original wagons remained in service after the 1923 grouping, with the last D 1340 withdrawn in 1942 and the final D 1341 in 1948. Running numbers are not recorded, as the vehicles were likely transferred to departmental stock before withdrawal.
