The SER/SECR 5‑plank 10‑ton open wagon (manufacturer part number 824006) is a model of a pre‑grouping railway wagon built for the South Eastern Railway (SER) and later the South Eastern and Chatham Railway (SECR). It represents the 5‑plank open goods and coal wagons of diagrams SR D1340 and D1341, which were constructed between 1897 and 1901.

During the late 1890s freight traffic on the SER increased sharply, prompting the order of around 2 000 prototype wagons and subsequently about 1 250 new open wagons. These were built by Ashbury Railway Carriage and Iron Co, Birmingham Railway Carriage and Wagon Co, Oldbury Railway Carriage and Wagon Co and the railway’s own Ashford works. The two diagrams are 15 ft 5 in long with a 9 ft 4 in wheelbase; D1340 has round ends, while D1341 features low‑D shaped ends and a Williams pattern sheet rail.

The wagons entered SECR service without SER livery, were taken over by the Southern Railway at the grouping on 01/01/1923 and were gradually withdrawn, the final D1340 being scrapped in 1942 and the last D1341 in 1948. Running numbers are not recorded as most had passed into departmental stock by the time of withdrawal.

The model is presented in SE&CR Wainwright light grey (No. 8011) with split‑spoke wheels on metal bearings, detailed above and below the floor line, high‑quality livery, NEM coupler pockets and a 1:76 (OO gauge) scale. It includes split‑spoke wheels, a metal‑bearing axle and accurate body details for the round‑ended D1340 version.
