Rapido SER/SECR 5‑plank 10‑ton open wagon – SE&CR Wainwright Light Grey No 8450 is a 1:76 scale (OO gauge) model of a pre‑grouping British railway wagon. The manufacturer part number is 824010 and the model represents the period before the 1923 railway grouping.

The wagon is based on Southern Railway diagrams 1340 (open goods) and 1341 (open coal). Both diagrams measure 15 ft 5 in in length with a 9 ft 4 in wheelbase. The main visual distinction is that the 1341 version has low‑D shaped ends and a Williams pattern sheet rail, whereas the 1340 version has round ends. Many examples were later converted to square ends in 1912.

Originally built between 1897 and 1901 by Ashbury Railway Carriage and Iron Co, Birmingham Railway Carriage and Wagon Co, Oldbury Railway Carriage and Wagon Co and the railway’s Ashford Works, roughly 1 250 of these wagons were produced to meet increasing freight demand on the South Eastern Railway and later the South Eastern and Chatham Railway. The Southern Railway inherited most of the stock after the 1923 grouping; the last D1340 was withdrawn in 1942 and the final D1341 in 1948.

The model includes split‑spoke wheels running in metal bearings, NEM coupler pockets, a high level of detail above and below the floor line and a high‑quality livery application matching the original Wainwright light grey. It is intended for collectors and railway modelers seeking an accurate representation of the historic 5‑plank 10‑ton open wagon.
