Manufacturer description

Freightliner were the second operating company to enter the class 66 game with the first of their locomotives arriving in 1999. Nicknamed 'freds' - a portmanteau of Freightliner and Shed, 66507 represents the standard freightliner class 66 of the early noughties.

Our Class 66 model is based on the award winning ‘accura-standard’ platform, with all-wheel powered six-axle bogies, a powerful twin flywheel fitted motor and market leading electronics package.

The Accurascale Class 66 Freightliner Green/Yellow 66507 Diesel Locomotive is a highly detailed OO scale model, representing the standard Freightliner Class 66 locomotive of the early 2000s. This model features a die-cast metal chassis and RP25-110 profile OO wheels, with a powerful twin flywheel fitted motor and market leading electronics package.

The model is based on the Accurascale 'standard' platform, with all-wheel powered six-axle bogies and a highly detailed underframe tank with brackets and pipework. It also features separately applied etched metal/plastic detail parts, including grab handles, steps, wipers, and scale width wire handrails.

The locomotive is DCC ready, with a power pack capacitor for uninterrupted power and customised Dual-Speaker Technology with a large 'Accurathrash' Style Bass Speaker and smaller 'iphone' style cube for higher frequencies on DCC Sound-fitted models. The model also features a hall sensor for a flange squeal effect on DCC Sound-fitted models.

The model's lighting pack is fully detailed, with directional lighting, DC and DCC, and switchable red and white marker lights with day/night options. The cab lighting is separately switched, with auto/off on movement. The model has a minimum radius curve of 438mm (2nd Radius Set-track) and is suitable for use on OO gauge model railway layouts.
