Manufacturer description

Arriving in the uk aboard MV Fairload on the 23rd June 2000, this locomotive was originally numbered 66250 and was the last EWS class 66 as part of their “red revolution” which had started with 66001 just a few years earlier. As part of a restructuring, EWS offered several locomotives for sale and 66250 was quired by GBRF in 2017 and was allocated the new number 66789. Unveiled on the 27th Feb 2018, 66789 sports a homage to the British Rail large logo blue livery to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the formation of British Railways back in 1948.

Accurascale has released a new OO scale model of a Class 66 locomotive in GBRF livery, which represents the period of initial privatisation. The model is based on the real locomotive, GBRF No.66789, which was originally EWS No.66250 and was one of the last of its class to be built.

The model features a highly detailed design, with a die-cast metal chassis and separately applied etched metal and plastic detail parts. It has a minimum radius of 438mm and is 1:76.2 scale.

The model is DCC sound ready and features a powerpack capacitor for uninterrupted power. It also has a customised dual-speaker system, hall sensor for flange squeal effect, and a five-pole motor with two flywheels and all wheel drive and pickup.

The lighting pack is fully detailed and features directional lighting, switchable red and white marker lights, and separately switched cab lighting with auto/off on movement. The model is available with a 21-pin DCC socket or with factory-fitted DCC sound.
