Accurascale has released a Class 66 locomotive model, numbered 66302, in the Fastline Freight livery. This model is DCC Sound Ready and represents the early days of the Class 66, specifically the period of initial privatisation.

The model arrived in the UK on 8th November 2006, aboard the MV Stellanova, as part of a consignment of low emission Class 66 models bound for Freightliner and DRS. It worked its first train on 13th November 2006. However, the model was later acquired by DRS after Jarvis went into administration and was repainted into the DRS colours. Please note that the grey finish on this particular model is incorrect and will be corrected in future production runs.

The model is a highly detailed OO scale representation, with a scale of 1:76.2. It features a die-cast metal chassis, RP25-110 profile OO wheels, and separately applied etched metal and plastic detail parts. The underframe tank is fully detailed, with brackets and pipework, and the buffers are fully sprung.

The model is available in DCC Sound Ready format, with a PowerPack capacitor for uninterrupted power. It features a customised Dual-Speaker Technology, which includes a large 'Accurathrash' Style Bass Speaker and a smaller 'iphone' style cube for higher frequencies. The model also features a hall sensor for a flange squeal effect.

The model is DCC ready, with a 21-pin socket and the option for a factory-fitted DCC Sound system. The locomotive features a five-pole motor with two flywheels, allowing it to achieve a minimum scale top speed of 75mph. All four wheels are powered and feature pickup. The lighting pack includes directional lighting, red and white marker lights, and separately switched cab lighting.
