Out of Sequence! The universal nature of the Class 66 means that transfers and sales between owners/operators are relatively common. 66122 is one of those. It was one of several locomotives hired by DRS and as such carries DB modifications like auto couplers and wing mirrors but the house colours of new operator DRS.

Our Class 66 model is based on the award winning ‘accura-standard’ platform, with all-wheel powered six-axle bogies, a powerful twin flywheel fitted motor and market leading electronics package.

Accurascale's OO scale model of Class 66 diesel locomotive 66122, operated by Direct Rail Services, is a highly detailed reproduction of the real-life locomotive. The model is built on the 'accura-standard' platform, featuring a die-cast metal chassis, six-axle bogies, and a powerful twin flywheel fitted motor.

The model is designed for use on minimum radius curves of 2nd radius track, which is equivalent to a radius of 438mm. It features RP25-110 profile OO wheels and separately applied etched metal and plastic detail parts, including grab handles, steps, wipers, and more. The underframe tank detail is fully represented, with brackets and pipework accurately recreated.

The model is DCC ready, with a 21-pin socket and a powerpack capacitor to ensure uninterrupted power. It also features a Hall sensor for a flange squeal effect and a customised dual-speaker technology with a large 'Accurathrash' style bass speaker and a smaller 'iPhone' style cube for higher frequencies on DCC sound-fitted models.

The lighting pack is fully detailed, with directional lighting, DC and DCC capabilities, switchable red and white marker lights with day/night options, and separately switched cab lighting that auto-switches off on movement. The model also features a stay-alive power pack, allowing it to run for a short period after the power supply is switched off.
