66587 arrived in the United Kingdom on 21 April 2007 and entered traffic with Freightliner in the company’s original green and yellow livery. This model completes the set of Freightliner locomotives in this run by representing a “low-emission” variant. The locomotive remained relatively anonymous in this livery until 10 June 2019, when Freightliner repainted 66587 and unveiled it at Southampton Docks in the striking magenta colour scheme of Ocean Network Express, marking Freightliner’s new partnership with the global container shipping company. It was given a name for the first time: “As One, We Can”. This locomotive has now received the modified driver’s door handle arrangement, with the upper handle plated over.

Accurascale Class 66 Freightliner No.66587 is a 4‑axle diesel locomotive model supplied with DCC Sound. It carries the ACC3472‑DCC manufacturer part number and represents the initial privatisation era of the British freight fleet. The model is finished in Freightliner livery and includes a fully detailed lighting pack and a PowerPack capacitor for uninterrupted power.

The prototype entered service in the United Kingdom on 21 April 2007 in Freightliner's original green and yellow livery as a low‑emission variant. Accurascale has introduced several refinements to the moulding, including a newly tooled exhaust silencer, revised handbrake linkages moulded in the off position, an etched middle handrail bracket, optional roof‑mounted Wi‑Fi pods, updated cab‑door handles and BMAC‑replacement lighting units. New buffer‑plate combinations allow additional prototype variations to be modelled.

The model features a five‑pole motor with two flywheels and gearing set to achieve a minimum scale top speed of 75 mph (120 kph), together with all‑wheel drive and pickup. DCC provision includes a 21‑pin MTX socket or factory‑fitted ESU LokSound 5 decoder, and the DCC‑sound version incorporates customised dual‑speaker technology with a large bass speaker and a smaller high‑frequency cube, plus a Hall sensor for flange squeal. Lighting is fully switchable between DC and DCC, with separate cab lighting, dual‑colour marker lights with day/night settings and directional headlamps.
