Manufacturer description

66414 was originally leased to DRS and this is how it arrived fresh from the factory aboard MV fairlift on the 16th October 2006. When that lease expired, DRS did not renew leaving the locomotive available for transfer to Freightliner. Perhaps better known for its spell as “James the Engine” in Stobart livery, it gained the new “powerhaul” version of freightliner livery in 2015 and this is how it remains to this day.

Accurascale's OO scale model of Class 66 Freightliner Powerhaul No.66414 diesel locomotive features a highly detailed design with a die-cast metal chassis and RP25-110 profile wheels. The model is based on the locomotive's initial privatisation period and is decorated in Freightliner's 'Powerhaul' livery.

The model has a stay-alive power pack fitted as standard and is DCC sound-fitted, featuring a large 'Accurathrash' style bass speaker and a smaller 'iphone' style cube for higher frequencies. Directional lighting, DC and DCC, is included, along with switchable red and white marker lights with day/night options and separately switched cab lighting.

Other features include a 'Easi-mag' lift off roof panel for easy access to the decoder and DC light switches, fully sprung buffers, and factory-fitted pipework and screw couplings for display. The model is DCC ready with a 21-pin socket or a factory-fitted DCC sound option.

The locomotive was originally leased to DRS and was later transferred to Freightliner in 2015, where it has remained in service. The model is suitable for layouts with a minimum radius of 438mm and is powered by a five-pole motor with two flywheels, allowing it to achieve a minimum scale top speed of 75mph.
