Prototype Era
Era 9 (1995 to 2004) Initial Privatisation
66718 arrived at Newport Docks aboard MV Jumbo Challenger on 9 April 2006. It was one of five locomotives (66718–66722) delivered in First GBRf/Metronet livery for use in connection with the upgrading of the London Transport sub-surface lines.
The locomotive was named “Gwyneth Dunwoody” at Euston on 26 January 2007. Dunwoody was the Labour MP for Crewe and served as Transport Minister.
On 5 November 2013 the locomotive emerged from Arlington Fleet Services at Eastleigh Works in a striking new livery, one of a pair unveiled that day in partnership with the London Transport Museum. The design featured black bodywork covered with brightly coloured London Transport logos. At the same time the locomotive was renamed “Sir Peter Hendy CBE”, recognising the then Commissioner for Transport for London.
After carrying this scheme for a decade, the locomotive returned to Eastleigh in 2023 for refurbishment. It re-emerged in a slightly revised version of the London Transport livery, with minor alterations to the application of warning yellow on the ends, and received a further updated name on Wednesday 24 May 2023.
The locomotive now carries the name “Peter, Lord Hendy of Richmond Hill, of Imber in the County of Wiltshire”, reflecting Lord Hendy’s appointment to the House of Lords and his role as Chair of Network Rail. At 57 characters (excluding commas), this is believed to be one of the longest names ever carried by a UK locomotive.
* Class names often change over the lifespan of a locomotive, so this is not necessarily the class name used by the operator in the period modelled.

Accurascale Class 66 – GBRF/LTM Black – 66718 is a DCC‑ready model locomotive in London Transport livery, representing the initial privatisation era. It carries the manufacturer part number ACC3456.
The kit reflects the real locomotive that arrived at Newport Docks aboard MV Jumbo Challenger on 9 April 2006, one of five units (66718–66722) supplied to First GBRf/Metronet for the London Transport sub‑surface line upgrade programme.
The locomotive was named “Gwyneth Dunwoody” at Euston on 26 January 2007, honouring the former Labour MP and Transport Minister. On 5 November 2013 it was repainted in a new black scheme with bright London Transport logos and renamed “Sir Peter Hendy CBE”, after the then Commissioner for Transport for London.
After a decade in that livery, the model returned to Eastleigh for refurbishment in 2023. It emerged with a slightly revised London Transport livery, altered warning‑yellow markings and a further updated name on 24 May 2023: “Peter, Lord Hendy of Richmond Hill, of Imber in the County of Wiltshire”, one of the longest names ever carried by a UK locomotive.
