The Dapol Large Prairie 2-6-2 Tank Locomotive in BR Black with British Railways lettering is a model of a classic steam locomotive. The model is built to represent a locomotive from the Great Western Railway's 5101 class, which was introduced in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

The 5101 class was an updated version of the 3100 class, designed for London suburban services and featuring a higher boiler pressure. The locomotives were built between 1929 and 1949, with the last twenty not receiving Great Western livery. The last eleven locomotives of the class were withdrawn in December 1965.

This model features a diecast chassis with a five pole motor driving the rear wheel, and compensation is provided by springing the centre driving wheels and the front pony truck. The locomotive has electrical pick-up on all driving and tender wheels, a firebox glow, and a proven slow speed mechanism and high torque motor.

The model is designed to run on 2nd radius curves or tighter, and has a length of 164mm, width of 34mm, and height of 48mm. It is fitted with a NEXT-18 DCC decoder and a 'no-solder' speaker connection, making it easy to install and upgrade. The model is finished in pristine condition and features a range of period-specific details, including a tall safety valve cover, short safety valve cover, and smoke box number plate.
